I am giving three stars because my first impression made me feel like they were going guide me properly and be respectful of me, my family, and my loved one who passed on. We have family that has always utilized their services in the past. That was the reason I went to them in the first place. The man I spoke with on the telephone was very accommodating, polite, and respectful. I thought I was meeting with him. Instead when I went there to plan the services I was met by a younger woman who works there. The woman was completely under dressed for the job. She was unfriendly, and seemed very cold towards me. I wondered if I had done something in the past to make her dislike me. But, I have never met this woman in my life. So, moving on..... she acted as if she couldn't be bothered helping me with the plans. I imagine working in a place like this would almost force a person to be desensitized to the emotions that people are feeling when they walk in. However, they should at the very least, act as if they feel something for your situation. She never once offered her condolences, she didn't explain the different options that I had, nor did she offer any suggestions. She asked me if I wanted an obituary, while almost telling me that I didn't need one. Instead of asking questions about my loved one to gather information to write a proper obituary, she just kind of threw one together while basically rushing me out the door. She made me feel rushed, and as if my business was not important, and I that I was wasting her time. For some reason, she was going to take it upon herself to write that the services would be private, luckily I caught it, and told her that I want people to know they are welcome to attend his service. I would highly recommend that Fosters either retrains her on how to behave and dress, or they fire her because she is not a people person. Maybe give her the job that doesn't involve dealing with the public. Like I said, it takes a certain person to do that job without falling apart at the seams from facing death everyday, but, that person, really needs to at least pretend to have a little empathy. I have set up funerals at other places. The workers were always dressed beautifully, and not a hair out of place. Also, unlike the woman here, they were polite, kind, and showed empathy. My loved one was in the military, and so I requested military honors for him, (which he is entitled to) and she said, well, IF we can do it... She didn't explain how we could go about things like using a room, having a sermon, which I really did want to do. Instead, somehow, I was only set up with a burial, and graveside services in the spring and without a priest. If I had been treated with respect (like I was when I first called) and I was given the proper options I would have given them more stars. But, for now, three stars is EXTREMELY generous (and only because of the phone manners) and without the first impression, I would have not wanted to give one star, and that statement is entirely based solely on this woman. Maybe if I had met with the man I spoke to on the phone they would have gotten five stars. You only get one chance to the plan a nice service that is worthy of saying goodbye to your loved one. I was hoping that I chose the right place, and that I would feel at ease with the situation. Instead I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth, a service that is nothing like I wanted and it is because of her. Thank You. So, if you decide to use their services, please ask to bypass this girl so you can have a nice service instead.
